In hot sunny conditions Xerox Ducati's Troy Bayliss ended his drought of race wins by doing the double infront of 63,000 spectators at the Brno circuit in the Czech Republic. Also joing Troy on the podium in both races was his team-mate Michel Fabrizio plus Yamaha Motor Italia's Troy Corser made it onto the podium in race one with a second place finish with Sterilgarda Go-Eleven Ducati's Max Biaggi taking third in race two.
Race One. After Starting from pole position Xerox Ducati's Troy Bayliss kept his cool behind Yamaha Motor Italia's Troy Corser and Sterilgarda Go-Eleven Ducati's Max Biaggi until lap 12 when he made his pass to the front. From there on Troy Bayliss was in a class of his own where he went onto to take the chequered flag by 1.5 seconds ahead of Yamaha Motor Italia's Troy Corser with Sterilgarda Go-Eleven Ducati's Max Biaggi losing out on third place to Xerox Ducati's Michel Fabrizio who took Max Biaggi on the final lap in an exciting duel to the finish line. First of the four cylinder bikes in fifth was Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari with Yamaha Motor Italia's Nori Haga taking sixth, seventh was Alstare Suzuki's Max Neukirchner who lost out to the fast pace of the front runners in the later stages of the race, eighth was Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's Carlos Checa, ninth Alstare Suzuki's Yukio Kagayama with Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's Kenan Sofuoglu in tenth.
Race Two. In the second race Xerox Ducati's Troy Bayliss was in a class of his own yet again as the hard charging Australian went onto win race two which proved difficult in the past for Troy, but with these two wins of 50 points Troy now has a healthy lead of 79 points over Astare Suzuki's Max Neukirchner. Going one better than in race one Bayliss's team-mate Michel Fabrizio battled it out to the finish line with Sterilgarda Go-Eleven Ducati's Max Biaggi yet again to take second with Biaggi making it onto the podium in third. Fourth was Yamaha Motor Italia's Troy Corser ahead of Alstare Suzuki's Max Neukirchner, sixth Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari with a brilliant ride in seventh for Yamaha Motor Italia's Nori Haga who started from the pit lane in eade last. Eighth Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's Carlos Checa, ninth Alstare Suzuki's Yukio Kagayama with another solid tenth for Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's Kenan Sofuoglu. The current championship points are 1st Troy Bayliss 309, 2nd Max Neukirchner 230,3rd Troy Corser 210, 4th Carlos Checa 215, fifth Nori Haga 210, 6th Fonsi Nieto 161, 7th Ruben Xaus 148, 8th Michel Fabrizio 147, 9th Max Biaggi 146, 10th Ryuichi Kiyonari 115.
WORLD SUPERSPORT CHAMPIONSHIP. Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's Johnny Rea scored his first ever victory in the Supersport class in his rookie year. The young rider from Northern Ireland edged out his team-mate Andrew Pitt on the line to take thechequered flag. Andrew Pitt has now extended his championship points by 32 over Hannsoree Stiggy Motorsport Honda Josh Brookes who took the final place on the podium in third. The current championship points are 1st Andrew Pitt, 2nd Josh Brookes, 3rd Broc Parkes, 4th Fabian Foret, 5th Johnny Rea, 6th Joan Lazcorz, 7th Craig Jone, 8th Robbin Harms.
