Jonathan Rea marks SBK superpole in Portimao

The Superbike World Championship has played in the fight for the superpole in the Circuit of Portimao , where we have seen a very ugly incident that has featured Tom Sykes, who has gone to the ground with his Kawasaki in a very fast area with fire incorporated, so very spectacular, luckily the British has only fractured a finger.

And it was time for the first official start, with SP1, seeing as Jordi Torres and Xavi For├ęs got the best times on the list of drivers who had not managed to get into the top 10 of the Friday combo. Finally, these two drivers have managed to be the fastest and have sneaked into Superpole 2 to fight for the top 12 of the grid. After the first exit came the time of Superpole 2, with a very important low , that of Tom Sykes who can not be present due to injury. So the big favorite for this fight is Jonathan Rea, but the rest of the drivers will give the maximum during these 15 minutes.

Rea has been the reference from the beginning, with a strong Laverty in the second position, and with Torres maintaining the third place. For his part, Davies has thrown everything during every minute to try to overcome the time of his compatriot. But finally, Rea has been the superpoleman with his time of 1'41.430, without doubt the one of Kawasaki is the great favorite, especially seeing the problems of Davies in this route and that his companion Sykes will not be in race; in addition the 1 has been the only pilot to roll in 1.41. Behind it is Laverty, which has stayed at + 0.767s away from the first.

The top 11 has been completed with Savadori 3rd, Lowes 4th, Melandri 5th, Torres 6th, Van der Mark 7th, Bradl 8th , Davies 9th, Fores 10th, Camier 11th. Today was not a good day for Davies, who forcing the machine has gone to the ground in the last seconds, so we will see how the Ducati race is going.
