On tuesday 8th and wednesday 9th July the Hannspree World Superbike Championship and the World Supersport Championship will be heading to the Vallelunga circuit near Rome in Italy for two days of officail testing. The tests will be a good opportunity to find the right set-up for the twelvth round of the 4.110km circuit, scheduled for september 21st, as well as to put in some vital testing before the upcoming rounds at Brno and Brands Hatch. Most of the championship regulars will be present just a week or so after the San Marino round where the wins were split between Alstare Suzuki's Max Neukirchner and Sterilgarda Go-Eleven Ducati's Ruben Xaus.
BSB : BYRNE DENIES WSBK TALKS WITH DUCATI
British Superbike Championship leader Shane Byrne has dismissed rumours that he will be stepping up to the World Superbike stage in 2009. The Airwaves Ducati rider has been linked to the Xerox Ducati Team as they look for someone to replace the legendary Troy Bayliss when he retires at the end of the season. Byrne stated that he has had no contact with the Xerox squad as his immediate future is with the Airwaves Ducati team and to win the title for them this year.

MOTO-GP : MARCO MELANDRI STAYS, SAYS DUCATI
Ducati claims Marco Melandri will almost certainly stay at the team until the US Grand Prix. The Italian has been linked with a switch to the Kawasaki squad for the German Grand Prix as a replacement for the injured John Hopkins but those claims have been played down by Ducati. Team boss Livio Suppo said "It's 99% sure that Marco Melandri will race in Germany and the U.S.A." It now looks certain that the Italian has to perform well at the next two rounds if he wants to keep his seat at Ducati.
