Yukio Kagayama ( Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra ) scored two amazing wins at the 5.403 km Brno circuit, to take his first double win sbk win. he got back to winning ways by chasing down Britains James Toaeland ( Winston Ten Kate Honda ) in race one, then repeating it again in race two, then he hunted down superpole winner Nori Haga ( Yamaha Motor Italia ) to score his second win of the day. Another great ride of the day was from Michel Fabrizio ( DFX Treme Honda ) who scored his first two podiums in the superbike class since moving up from supersports. Luckless Troy Bayliss ( Xerox Ducati ) had a nightmare of a weekend as he was taken out of race one on the first turn of lap one by Regis Laconi ( Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse ) and could'nt keep with the front runners in race two, and finished in eighth place, but still leads the championship with 262 points, with Haga on 189 points and Toseland on 188 points.

RACE ONE. An outstanding contest for the final podium place, behind eventual winner Yukio Kagayama and second place James Tosland, was taken by rookie Michel Fabrizio who is recovering from a broken shoulder. Kagayama claimed his first win of 2006 by sitting behind race leader James Toseland for 16 of the 20 lap race, only to pass Toseland to take the race win. Michel Fabrizio who was fifth on the final lap took both Corser and Haga to claim the final spot on the podium with Haga fourth and Corser fifth. Championship leader Troy bayliss retired from race one after tangling with regis Laconi on the first lap, which saw both riders crash. Britains James Toseland was lucky to start the race at all, after a collision with a backmarker in morning warm-up as he trashed his number one bike. The backmarker was cruising round on the racing line and Toseland committed into the corner clashed with the slower rider breaking his Honda's crank case and spilling oil onto Toseland's rear tyre which through Toseland into the air at over 100 mph where the bike burst into flames. Luckily Toseland walked away unhurt.

RACE TWO. Yukio Kagama showed an amazing display of riding by passing Nori Haga after making his way through the pack to claim his second race win of the day, but all the action was from Michel Fabrizio who completed a double pass on Troy Corser and Nori Haga with two corners to go, Haga fought back hard but Fabrizio held the Yamaha rider to the finish by just 0.173 seconds to claim his second podium of the day.
