AMAZING TROY BAYLISS DOES THE DOUBLE AGAIN
Xerox Ducati's Troy Bayliss won his seventh race in a row in front of a massive 71,000 crowd at Silverstone in Northamptonshire at the weekend in fine sunny conditions, but the two previous day were wet torrid conditions, which saw many riders crashing out in the practice sessions. Troy Bayliss did not have it his own way as he was pushed to the line by Yamaha's hard charging Nori Haga on his Yamaha R1 and britains James Toseland on his Winston Ten Kate Honda Fireblade.Both races saw the one, two, three finshes of Bayliss, Haga and Toseland, but the crowds favourite of the day had to be James Toseland who stripped down to his boxers shorts to through helmet , leathers, gloves and boots into the cheering british crowd at the end of race two. Fans favourite Chris Walker gave the fans some exciting racing as he fought hard to push the PSG-1 Kawasaki around the silverstone circuit and even leading race two for the first five laps, but the stalker never gave in and finished sixth and eighth and rewarded the crowd at Luffield corner after race two with wildcard pole man Tommy Hill to a amazing double burnout.
RACE ONE. A dramatic start to racr one saw four riders fall at the first corner, after a highside from frenchman Fabion Foret (Astare Engineering Suzuki). Another crash in the same lap brought the red flag out as Foggy Pertronas rider Craig Jones crashed out, but was able to make the restart of the race. Nori Haga (Yamaha Motor Italia) led the race for 19 laps but was overtaken by eventual race winner Troy Bayliss (Xerox Ducati). Britains James Toseland (Winston Ten Kate Honda) who started way down the grid on row four rode the wheels of his Honda Fireblade to an amazing third place finish and a great ride from Rubens Xaus (Sterilgarda Berik Ducati) who finished a seasons best in fourth.
RACE TWO. Britains Chris Walker got an amazing start and led from the front of the pack for the first five laps, but was soon overtaken by Bayliss, Haga and Toseland, this trio broke away from the rest of the pack which saw the amazing battle between Troy Bayliss (Xerox Ducati) and Nori Haga (Yamaha Motor Italia) who eventually pulled away from James Toseland (Winston Ten Kate Honda). Lap after lap Bayliss and Haga swapped positions all the way down to the line, but it was the hard charging aussie Troy Bayliss who took the race win from Nori Haga and in third was James Toseland with his second podium finsh of the day. Andrew Pitt (Yamaha Motor Italia) had to fight of former Moto-Gp star Alex Barros (Klaffi Honda) for fourth place and a luckless Troy Corser (Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra) who crashed out of race one and finshed sixth in race two is giving away a massive 76 points lead to Troy Bayliss 225 to 149 points with Nori Haga in third with 133 points and James Toseland in fourth with 129 points.
