BAGGI TAKES THE DOUBLE AT THE TEMPLE OF SPEED 

Aprilia Alitalia rider Max Biaggi produced to stunning performance to win both races in front of 115,00 fans at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Italy for round five of the Hannspree Superbike World Championship. With these two great wins under his belt ,Max has pulled himself up with in three points of Championship leader Alstare Suzuki's Leon Haslam. In race one Biaggi was pushed all the way by the Sterilgarda Yamaha's of James Toseland and Cal Crutchlow, with changes to his rear suspension for race two Biaggi would become the clear winner over Alstare Suzuki's Leon Haslam with Troy Corser making history for the BMW Motorrad team by taking the German machine to it's first ever podium in third.

Race One. Aprilia Alitalia rider Max Biaggi won his home race after starting from pole position, but the former four-times 250cc Grand Prix World Champion came under attack from the Sterilgarda Yamaha of James Toseland on the final lap, but with Toseland running wide Biaggi was able to dive under the Englishman and power his way to the chequred flag. Itoseland managed to hold onto second with team-mate Cal Crutchlow taking third. From second to fifth was dominated by the English riders with Alstare Suzuki's Leon Haslam getting the better of Aprilia Alitalia's Cal Crutchlow for fourth as Ruben Xaus would take his BMW Motorrad machine to a season's best in sixth while last years race winner Ducati Xerox rider Michel Fabrizio would struggle in seventh ahead of BMW Motorrad's Troy Corser and SRT Kawasaki's Tom Sykes with Haslam's team-mate Sylvain Quintoli finishing in tenth.

Race Two. After some changes to his rear suspension Max Biaggi powered his way to another win making it his second double of the year after another stunning performance earlier in the season at round two in Portugal, but the Aprilia rider did not have it all his own way as the first thirteen laps he was challenged by Sterilgarda Yamaha's Cal Crutchlow who eventually was forced to retire due to mechanical problems leaving Biaggi to take take the double by almost three seconds ahead of Alstare Suzuki's Leon Haslam with Troy Corser in third making history for the German team. Biaggi's team-mate had a better run this time out took fourth ahead of a delighted Tom Sykes who had his best ever finish of the season aboard the SRT Kawasaki. Ducati Xerox's Nori Haga managed to hold off Alstare Suzuki's Sylvain Quintoli for sixth while the battle for eighth would go to PATA B&G Racing Ducati's Jakub Smrz. after coming under attack from Althea Ducati's Shane Byrne while Supersonic Ducati local rider Luca Scassa wouldtake his best result of the season in tenth.

SUPERSPORT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Parkalgar Honda rider Eugene Laverty pulled himself back with in touching reach of championship leader Motocard.com Kawasaki's Joan Lascorz after an impressive win at Monza making it his third win of the season. Pole starter and former 2007 world champion Kenan Sofuoglu held of a late challenge from Joan Lascorz in the dying moments of the race to take second with the Motocard.com rider settling for third. Lascorz still leads the championship with 110 points with Sofuoglu on 101 and Laverty in third with 91 points.
