REA AND HAGA TAKE A WIN APIECE AT THE RING  

45,000 German fans packed into the Nurburgring for round 11 of the Hannspree World Superbike Championship where Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's Johnathan Rea and Ducati Xerox's Nori Haga returned to their winning ways. Championship points leader Max Biaggi had his lead cut down to 58 points despite Alstare Suzuki's Leon Haslam taking third in race two after discolating his thumb after a crash in race one. Althea Ducati rider Carlos Checa took the runner up spot in race one with Yamaha Sterilgarda's Cal Crutchlow third. The second race of the day saw Checa fall while chasing Nori Haga who went onto to record his first win in five months while Jonathan Rea had to settle for second with Alstare Suzuki's Leon Haslam third. 

Race One. Hannspree Ten Kate Honda rider Johnathan Rea took an early lead in the re-started first race, and rode home to record his fourth win of the season ahead of Althea Ducati's Carlos Checa, with Yamaha Sterilgarda's Cal Crutchlow taking third. Championship leader Aprilia Alitalia's Max Biaggi was fourth, with Factory Kawasaki's Tom Sykes recording his best finish to date took fifth. Alstare Suzuki's Leon Haslam who was one of the riders caught up in the first lap crash that caused the race to be re-run took a creditable sixth while BMW Motorrad rider Ruben Xaus flew the flag for the German team took seventh. Despite starting from the front row in third, Alstare Suzuki's Sylvain Quintoli could only finish in eighth with Althea Ducati of Shane Byrne and Supersonic Ducati of Luca Scassa rounding out the top ten.

Race Two. Ducati Xerox rider Nori Haga took the lead from Althea Ducati's Carlos Checa early on in the 19 lap race where Checa would later crash out whilst trying to close the gap on the Japanese rider, who eventually opened up a 3.060 second lead ahead of race one winner Johanthan Rea to record his first win for the Ducati team in five months. Despite discolating his thumb Alstare Suzuki's Leon Haslam bravely crossed the finish line in third. Cal Crutchlow fought a race long battle with Aprilia's Max Biaggi to take fourth with Alstare Suzuki's Sylvain Quintoli having a better run this time out in sixth. Kawasaki's Tom Sykes could not repeat in fifth place finish in race one crossed the line in seventh, eighth was Yamaha Sterilgarda's James Toseland, ninth BMW Motorrad's Ruben Xaus with the sole Althea Ducati of Shane Byrne in tenth.

SUPERSPORT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Parkalgar Honda rider Eugene Laverty was made to work hard for his win as Intermoto Czech Honda rider Gino Rea pushed the Irishman all the way to the chequred flag with Laverty taking the win by just 0.058 seconds. Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's Kenan Sofuoglu took third and still leads the championship 219 points to Laverty's 211. With just two rounds remaining and fifty points still up for grabs Laverty knows he has to win the next two races if he stands any chance of taking the title ahead of Sofuoglu.
