28.07.08. Fiat Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis is keen to resign Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo by the next round at Brno in August. Both riders contracts expire this year with Jarvis having already offered both rides a good package for 2011. It's understood that Ben Spies will be moving from the satelite team Yamaha Tech 3 to the factory team depending on which rider goes. Many believe that Lorenzo will stay as he wants to be the teams number one rider while Valentino Rossi could move to the Marlboro Ducati Team to replace Casey Stoner who's already signed for the Repsol Honda Team for next season.

25.07.10. Round nine, Laguna-Seca, USA, race day. Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo claimed his sixth win from nine races at Laguna-Seca in the USA today. The young Spaniard will head into the summer break 72 points clear of Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa who crashed out of the lead on lap 12 of 32, just as Lorenzo was starting to pile the pressure onto his fellow countryman. The runner-up spot went to Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner while Pedrosa's team-mate Andrea Dovizioso was caught and passed by a hard charging Valentino Rossi who later admitted it was his most painfull race to date as the nine time world champion is still clearly feeling the effects from breaking his right leg seven weeks ago. The battle for fifth fell between the two Americans of Marlboro Ducati's Nicky Hayden and Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Ben Spies with the Ducati rider taking full advantage of Spies late breaking mistake where he lost ground to finish sixth some twenty seconds ahead of his team-mate Colin Edwards. San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Melandri, Pramac Racing Ducati's Mika Kallio and Rizla Suzuki's Loris Capirossi completing the top ten.

24.07.10. Round nine, Laguna-Seca, USA, day two. Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo took his fifth pole position of the year at the Laguna-Seca circuit in the USA. The current championship points leader snatched pole from under the nose of Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner with just ten seconds remaining in the final one hour qualifying session. Stoner tried to respond but in the end had to settle for second with Repsol Honda's Andrea Dovizioso getting the better of his team-mate Dani Pedrosa for third. Monster Yamaha rider Ben Spies was looking good for a front row start for his home race until Pramac Racing Ducati's Aleix Espargaro crashed at the top of the Corkscrew leaving Spies with a time just good enough for fifth. Nine times World Champion Valentino Rossi who just seven weeks ago broke his leg put in a brave performance to finish sixth ahead of the two American's Marlboro Ducati's Nicky Hayden and Monster Yamaha's Colin Edwards with San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Simoncelli and Aspar Racing Ducati's Hector Barbera rounding out the the top ten.

23.07.10. Round nine, Laguna-Seca, USA, day one. Marlboro Ducati rider Casey Stoner took an early advantage on the opening day of round nine of the MotoGP World Championship at Laguna-Seca in the USA. The 2007 world champion went on to set a best time of 1m 21'699 seconds around the fast undulating Californian circuit ahead of Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo ant the two Repsol Honda's of Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa. Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Ben Spies was the fastesr of the American's in fifth with a strong ride from Fiat Yamaha's Valentino Rossi sixth. fellow American's Marlboro Ducati's Nicky Hayden and Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Colin Edwards were seventh and eighth with San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Melandri and Pramac Racing Ducati's Aleix Espargaro rounding out the top ten.

18.07.10. Round eight, Sachsenring, Germany, race day. Repsol Honds rider Dani Pedorsa denied Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo his fourth straight win of the season at the Sachsenring in Germany. The action packed race was halted on lap 10 of 27 after a three bike pile up between LCR Honda's Randy de Puniet, Pramac Ducati's Aleix Espargaro and Rizla Suzuki's Alvaro Bautista which resulted in Randy de Puniet later being diagnosed with a broken leg, subsequently all three riders were unable to make the restart. After a 30 minute delay the race got underway with the two Spaniard's battling it out for the win, but on this occasion Pedrosa was to strong for Lorenzo to record his second win of the season. The battle for third fell between Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner and Fiat Yamaha's Valentino Rossi who were locked in a fight for the remainder of the race with each rider passing and re-passing one another until Stoner put in a block pass on the multiple world champion on the last lap which was enough to keep the Fiat Yamaha at bay until he crossed the finish line. Pedrosa's team-mate Andrea Dovizioso fought at tough battle with rookie San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Simoncelli and Marlbor Ducati's Nicky Hayden for fifth with Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Ben Spies eighth, ninth was Aspar Racing Ducati's Hector Barbera with the second of the Greini Honda's ridden by Marco Melandri in tenth.

17.07.10. Round eight, Sachsenring, Germany, day two. A drama filled final qualifying session at the Sachsenring in Germany saw Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo bike dump oil on the fastest part of the circuit resulting in Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Ben Spies and LCR Honda rider Randy de Puniet crash going into turn one. The LCR Honda rider bore the brunt of the crash as Spies's bike landed on him where he was immediately taken to the medical centre for x-rays on his ankles. Spies managed to rejoin the session but failed to improve his time in thirteenth. Lorenzo went onto take take his fourth consectutive pole of the season ahead of Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner and Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa. The second of the Repsol Honda's ridden by Andrea Dovizioso will head of the second row in fourth with a truely amazing effort from the injured Valentino Rossi in fifth and Aspar Racing's Hector Barbera sixth. At the time of his crash, Randy de Puniet's time was good enough for him to qualify in seventh, eighth San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Simoncelli with Pramac Racing Ducati's Aleix Aspargaro ninth and the second San Carlo Gresini Honda of Marco Melandri in tenth.

16.07.10. Round eight, Sachsenring, Germany, day one. Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa went top of the time sheets in free practice today with twelve minutes remaining at the Sachsenring in Germany ahead of the two Marlboro Ducati's of Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden. Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Ben Spies got his weekend off to a perfect start by qualifying in fourth ahead of San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Simoncelli and current championship leader Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo. The real shock of the day was the return of Valentino Rossi, who just six weeks ago broke his right leg at Mugello ended his first day in an impressive seventh. LCR Honda's Randy de Puniet was eighth with San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Melandri and Repsol Honda's Andrea Dovizioso rounding out the top ten.

09.07.10. News broke today that Casey Stoner has officially signed to ride for the HRC Repsol Honds team for 2011. Both Ducati and Honda have confirmed this after rumours circulated earlier on this year. After Joining the Marlboro Ducati team in 2007 the young Australian went on to take the MotoGP world title for the first time for himself and Ducati. Since then it's been and up and career for Casey first suffering with a mystery illness which sidelined him for the races last year and this season has seen him struggle with the Ducati with grip. No with Stoner signed for Honda will this leave the door open for Valentino Rossi to ride for Ducati, a ride that everyone wants to see.

04.07.10. Round seven, Barcelona, Spain, race day. Pole starter Jorge Lorenzo made it his third win in a row at the Catalunya Grand-Prix in Spain in front of a crowd of over 147,000 fans. Lorenzo got a good start but it was Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa who hit the front but over cooked it going into turn one where he ran wide and rejoined the race in ninth. The battle for the lead was headed by Fiat Yamaha's Lorenzo who was pushed all the way by Pedrosa's team-mate Andrea Dovizioso who would eventually try to hard and with five laps remaining crashed out of second place leaving his team-mate Dani Pedrosa and Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner to fight it out for the runner up spot which eventually went to Pedrosa with Stoner in third. LCR Honda rider Randy de Puniet had his best result to date took fourth ahead of the Rizla Suzuki of Alvaro Bautista and Monster YamahabTech 3 rider Ben Spies. Loris Capirossi also had a good ride today for the Rizla Suzuki team took seventh ahead of a dejected Marlboro Ducati's Nicky Hayden in eighth. San Carlo Gresini Honda rider Marco Melandri done an amazing job to finish in ninth as he was racing with a broken sterum which he sustained back at Assen while Aspar Racing's Hector Barbera finally got the better of Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Colin Edwards for tenth.

03.07.10. Round seven, Barcelona, Spain, day two. Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo will start from pole position for his home grand prix at Barclona in Spain for tomorrow's race. Lorenzo was able to set a best time of 1'42.046 seconds in the blistering Spanish heat ahead of Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner and LCR Honda's Randy de Puniet. Another Spaniard who would like nothing more than a win tomorrow is Repsol Honda's Dan Pedrosa who will head off the second row in fourth and will be joined by Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Ben Spies and his Repsol Honda Team-mate Andrea Dovizioso. Loris Capirossi finally got the Rizla Suzuki working will start from the third row in seventh, eighth Pramac Racing Ducati's Aleix Espargro with San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Simoncelli ninth. Things are starting to look up fro the Rizla Suzuki team this weekend with their second rider Alvaro Bautista qualifying in tenth.

02.07.10. Round seven, Barcelona, Spain, day one. Jorge Lorenzo dominated the opening day of free practice at his home grand prix at Barcelona in Spain. The Fiat Yamaha rider who is chasing his third straight win this weekend set a best time of 1'43.259 seconds in the blistering Spanish heat. Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner looked good in second with the Repsol Honda's of Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso third and fourth. Rookie rider Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Ben Spies looked stunning in fifth, sixth Pramac Racing's Aleix Espargaro with LCR Honda's Randy de Puniet seventh. Marlboro Ducati's Nicky Hayden, Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Colin Edwards and San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Simoncelli all finished with in the top ten.

26.06.10. Round six, Assen, Holland, race day. Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo made little work at the Dutch TT at Assen today by winning the race with ease ahead of Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa and Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner who was making it his first podium of the season. Rookie Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Ben Spies put in a great display of riding to hold off Pedrosa's team-mate Andrea Dovizioso for fourth. LCR Honda rider Randy de Puniet did not get the best of starts but bravely fought back to finish in six ahead of the two American's of Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Colin Edwards and Marlboro Ducati's Nicky Hayden. Marco Simoncelli who was the sole rider racing today for the San Carlo Gresini Honda team after team-mate Marco Melandri injured his shoulder yesterday took ninth with Pramac Racing Ducati's Aleix Espargaro in tenth.

25.06.10. Round six, Assen, Holland, day two. Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo made it back to back pole positions at the Dutch TT circuit of Assen for round six of the MotoGP World Championship today, while edging out LCR Honda rider Randy de Puniet and Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner in the process. Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Ben Spies who was fresh from his first ever podium last weekend in the UK will head off the second in fourth and will be joined be fellow American Marlboro Ducati's Nicky Hayden and Repsol Honda's Andrea Dovizioso. The second of the Repsol Honda's ridden by Dani Pedrosa will start from the third row in seventh, eighth Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Colin Edwards with San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Simoncelli ninth. Simoncelli's team-mate Marco Melandri will take no further part at Assen this weekend after injuring his shoulder in qualifying.

24.06.10. Round six, Assen, Holland, day one. Fresh from his win at the British GP last weekend, Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo topped the time sheets on the opening day at the sixth round of the MotoGP Championship at Assen in Holland. Lorenzo's time of 1m 35.169 seconds was good enough to head the Marlboro Ducati's of Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden, while Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Colin Edwards made a positive start to his weekend in fourth ahead of the Repsol Honda's of Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa. Pramac Racing Ducati's Aleix Esparago was the fastest of the rookies in seventh, eighth Monster Yamaha's Ben Spies with the two Gresini Honda's of Marco Simoncelli and Marco Melandri rounding out the top ten.

20.06.10. Round five, Silverstone, UK, race day. Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo won the British Grand Prix today at the newly revised circuit of Silverstone for round five of the MotoGP World Championship. The Spaniard who started from pole position went onto to take the chequred flag virtually unchallenged now has a 37 points lead. Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso took second with Rookie Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Ben Spies taking his maiden podium in third. Marlboro Ducati's Nicky Haydon managed to hold off team-mate Casey Stoner for fourth with LCR Honda's Randy de Puniet settling for sixth ahead of San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Simoncelli. Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa was clearly still feeling the effects from his crash in qualifying yesterday was eighth, ninth Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Colin Edwards with Pramac Ducati's Aleix Esparago in tenth.

19.06.10. Round five, Silverstone, UK, day two. Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo snatched pole position from privateer LCR Honda rider Randy de Puniet in the dying moments of final qualifying for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Lorenzo's time of 2m 3.308 seconds spurred De Puniet into one final push to regain pole position, but the Frenchman pushed to hard resulting in him crashing but still retained second on the grid for Sunday's race. The same happened to Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa who had already qualified third lost the front end totally destroying the honda in the process. Andrea Dovizioso brought the second of the Repsol Honda's home for fourth ahead of the two Marlboro Ducati's of Casey Stoner and Nicky Haydon with Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Ben Spies in seventh. The two San Carlo Gresini Honda's of Marco Melandri and Marco Simoncelli were eighth and ninth with Spies team-mate Colin Edwards rounding out the top ten.

18.06.10. Round five, Silverstone, UK, day one. Jorge Lorenzo got straight down to business on the opening day at round five of the MotoGP World Championship at the newly revamped Silverstone circuit in the UK. The Fiat Yamaha rider who is riding solo this weekend as the his team is yet to name it's replacement rider to fill in for the injured Valentino Rossi who fractured his right tibia last time out at Mugello in Italy. At the end of day one Lorenzo topped the time sheets with a blistering time of 2m 5.991 seconds ahead of Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner and Repsol Honda's Andrea Dovizioso. The ever popular LCR Honda rider Randy de Puniet was pleased with his efforts was fourth while rookie Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Ben Spies got the better of Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa for fifth. San Carlo Gresini Honda's Marco Melandri was seventh with Pramac Ducati's Aleix Espargaro, San Carlo Gresin Honda's Marco Simoncelli and Marlboro Ducati's Nicky Hayden all finished with in the top ten.

08.06.10. After fracturing his right tibia last Saturday at his home race at Mugello in Italy Valentino Rossi was flown to a hospital in Florance to undergo a operation which required a steel pin inserted into his right leg. The operation was a success where the reigning World Champion later watched the race from his hospital bed where he later congratulated Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso by phone which was aired to the delight of the 150,000 strong Italian crowd. Yesterday, Valentino under went a second operation to close the wound which required a total of 15 stitches by Dr . Roberto Buzzi who's looking after the Italian star. It's under stood that Valentino could be out for up to six months depending on how quick he heals.

06.06.10. Round four, Mugello, Italy, race day. Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa won the Italian Grand Prix from pole position today at the Mugello circuit in front of 150,000 spectators. Pedrosa led from lights to flag crossed the line some four seconds ahead of Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo with the second of the Repsol Honda of Andrea Dovizioso in third. Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner fought a race long battle with Gresini Honda's Marco Melandri for fourth with the hard charging LCR Honda rider of Randy de Puniet sixth. Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Ben Spies was the fastest of the rookies in seventh, eighth Pramac Racing Ducati's Aliex Espargaro with Gresini Honda's Marco Simoncelli and veteran Rizla Suzuki rider Loris Capirossi rounding out the top ten. After the race reigning world champion Valentino Rossi congratulated the podium finishers by phone from his hospital bed which went out over the tanoid to the delight of all the fans.

05.06.10. Round four, Mugello, Italy, day two. Reigning World Champion Valentino Rossi badly fractured his right tibia in this morning's practice at his home round at Mugello in Italy has undergone a 2.5 hour operation to repair his tibia. Doctor's said that the operation was a success but Valentino could be out for at least twelve weeks which would wreck any chances of him retaining his title this year.

05.06.10. Round four, Mugello, Italy, day two. There was a subdued atmosphere during MotoGP final qualifying session after the news that home hero Valentino Rossi would not participate in this weekends race after fracturing his right tibia in morning practice resulting in the nine times world champion being flown to Florance to undergo surgery. Pole position eventually went to Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa who was able to set a time of 1' 48.819 seconds ahead of Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo and Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner. Nicky Hayden was a solid fourth just after losing out on a front row start to team-mate Stoner with Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Colin Edwards fifth and LCR Honda's Randy de Puniet sixth. Edwards team-mate Ben Spies was the fastest of the rookies in seventh, eighth Repsol Honda's Andrea Dovizioso, ninth Pramac Ducati's Aliex Espargaro with Interwetten Honda's Hiroshi Aoyama tenth.

04.06.10. Round four, Mugello, Italy, day one. Nine times world champion Valentino Rossi dominated the opening day of free practice at his home race at Mugello in Italy. Rossi who has just shrugged off death threats this week set a best time of 1'49.715 seconds ahead of his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo with veteran Rizla Suzuki rider Loris Capirossi qualifying in third despite having three crashes today. Monster Yamaha rider Colin Edwards continue to make progress throughout the day was fourth ahead of Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa and Monster Yamaha team-mate Ben Spies. Marlboro Ducati Casey Stoner, Repsol Honda Andrea Dovizioso, Marlboro Ducati Nicky Hayden and Apsar Racing's Hector Barbera were all top ten finishers.
