04.02.12. BSB : Michael Rutter and Peter Hickman will line up in BSB this year for MSS Colchester Kawasaki. The two riders signed their contracts on February 2nd at the team's base in Colchester, Essex. For Rutter the elder statesman of the BSB, it's a return to the team he last rode for in 2007 and he thinks the ZX-10R is as good as anything out there and knows Nick Morgan runs a great team.
Michael Rutter said : "I spoke to Stuart Easton who rode for them last year. He said the bike steers like a Honda and the ride-ability is the two key features that the Kawasaki appears to have both."
Peter Hickman said : "This is the biggest team i've ridden for. They are well established in the BSB and have good people aboard. I just want to crack on an ride the bike."
Team owner Nick Morgan added : "Michael had some good stonkers last year and i like his willingness to fight. He really got stuck in. Peter done a good job with the Quay Team last year. He's young and excited about racing. Both their styles of riding will be well suited to the bike without traction or anti-wheelie."
21.12.11. BSB : The Swan Yamaha team will defend their MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship title in 2012 as Shaun Muir Racing (SMR) confirmed their line up of reigning British champion Tommy Hill and TT record-breaker Ian Hutchinson. Reigning champion Hill will make his much anticipated return after claiming a maiden crown in sensational style in the final race of 2011 at Brands Hatch last October. The Lingfield ace defeated rival John Hopkins by just 0.006 seconds following a last lap battle for supremacy before celebrating the victory with the fans trackside. Hill's return makes him the first BSB champion to defend the number one plate since John Reynolds in 2005 and he is now determined to become the third rider in history to win back to back BSB titles.
Hutchinson completes the team's line-up as the record-breaking five times Isle of Man TT winner embarks on his first full season of BSB after a dramatic comeback from a broken tibia and fibula which required several operations to save his leg. Hutchinson had been sidelined since the crash at the penultimate round of the 2010 season before making his comeback at the Macau Grand Prix last month where he celebrated a podium finish.
29.11.11. BSB : Gary Mason will be back on a Kawasaki in the 2012 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship after joining forces with the PR Racing Kawasaki team, who confirmed today that Simon Andrews with be Mason's team-mate for next season. Mason, who has competed in over 200 BSB races, had his first taste of the 2012 specification Kawasaki last season with MSS Colchester Kawasaki is already working with the Liverpool based squad in preparation for the team's first test in Spain.
Mason said : "I really can't wait until next season and i am so happy as we have every chance of winning and achieving podiums with the new rules next year. I was really keen to stay with Kawasaki, although i did have other options, as we started working last year on the development and i wanted to continue that as i feel the bike has real potential. As a team, PR Racing are really passionate about what they want and to have Simon Andrews onboard as well will make a happy team, which generally equals a fast team".
09.11.11. BSB : Paul Bird Motorsport (PBM) has become one of the first elite Teams to announce their line up for the 2012 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship and have signalled their intentions of a winning return by signing Shane 'Shakey' Byrne and Stuart Easton. Following four seasons in the World Superbike Championship, which recently included a race win for the team, Penrith businessman Bird has lined up former British Superbike Champion Byrne and British Supersport Champion Easton for an assult on winning the the title for a third time. The Cumbria-based team have a strong pedigree in the British series, taking consectutive titles in 2002 and 2003 with the last Steve Hislop and Byrne, whilst Easton won the Supersport title in 2002. Former double BSB Champion Byrne and new team-mate Easton will race factory-specification Kawasaki ZX-10Rs for the series as part of an ambitious plan which will see PBM also field a CRT rider in the 2012 MotoGP World Championship with former BSB contender James Ellison. The team are now a planning a test schedule in Spain at the end of November.
12.09.10. BSB : Today the HM Plant Honda Racing Team announced that it will not be re-signing Ryuichi Kiyonari for the 2012 season. The Japanese rider struggled this year finishing down in sixth place and was often being beaten by riders competing in the EVO class on less powerfull machines. Kiyonari won the BSB title no less than three times for the HM Plant squad, making him the most successful rider in the series history.

Shane Byrne (HM Plant Honda) took his second win of the day in the final race of the 2011 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship, but all eyes were on the battle for the title as Tommy Hill (Swan Yamaha) beat John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) by just 0.006 of a second where a photo finish was needed to decide the verdict. James Ellison (Sorrymate.com) put in another stunning performance to finish fourth ahead of Michael Laverty (Swan Yamaha) and Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki). Veteran Michael Rutter (Rapid-Bathams Ducati) finished three seconds clear of Graeme Gowland (WFR Honda) for seventh with Peter Hickman (Tyco Honda) and James Westmoreland (WFR Honda) completed the top ten.

Byrne, who hails from just 10 miles down the road crossed the finish line nearly two seconds clear of Jon Kirkham (Samsumg Cresent Suzuki) with a brilliant ride from James Ellison (Sorrymate.com Honda) taing the final place on the podium in third. Tommy Hill (Swan Yamaha) kept his title hopes alive by finishing fourth, whilst his closest rival John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) struggled down in twelfth. Chris Walker (Pr1mo Kawasaki) had his best finish of the season in fifth with Graeme Gowland (WFR Honda) some four seconds back was sixth. Tommy Bridewell (Motorpoint Yamaha) had a lonely race in seventh, eighth James Westmoreland (WFR Honda) with Dan Linfoot (Tyco Honda) and Karl Harris (Splitath Aprilia) rounding out the top ten.

Brookes set a blistering time of 1min 25. 111secs ahead of Michael Laverty (Swan Yamaha) and John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) with the second Swan Yamaha ridden by Tommy Hill fourth. James Ellison will head off the second row in fifth where he will be joined by Michael Rutter (Rapid-Bathams Ducati), Jon Kirkham (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) and Graeme Gowland (WFR Honda) eighth. Martin Jessop (Rapid-Bathams Ducati) will start from ninth with Alex Lowes (Motorpoint Yamaha) tenth.

Shane Byrne (HM Plant Honda) headed up his MCE British Superbike Championship title rivals for a second time today in the second qualifying session. Bryne, set a best lap time of 1min 25. 683secs to edge out Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) and Michael Laverty (Swan Yamaha) third. John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) and Tommy Hill (Swan Yamaha) were fourth and fifth respectively ahead of James Ellison (Sorrymate.com Honda) and Evo rider Graeme Gowland (WFR Honda). Peter Hickman (Tyco Honda) was a solid eighth with veteran rider Michael Rutter (Rapid-Bathams Ducati) and team-mate Martin Jessopp rounding out the top ten.
07.10.11. BSB : Round twelve, Brands Hatch, test day. Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes topped the official test at Brands Hatch today ahead of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship title deciding round of the Showdown as the anticipation builds for tomorrow's opening race of the weekend. Shane Bryne (HM Plant Honda) had taken the initial advantage ahead of a charging Michael Laverty (Swan Honda) put him fastest after the opening ten minutes of the session. In the early stages Alex Lowes (Motorpoint Yamaha) crashed at Graham Hill Bend but he was able to recover to put himself in to tenth fastest by the end of the session. Laverty maintained the top spot, before Byrne again went ahead in the final ten minutes, but it lasted only two minutes as the Swan Yamaha again went to the top of the times. It was not until the final minute of the session that Brookes put in his best lap of the 1.2 mile inday circuit to propel himself to the top of the standings. The test session concluded with Laverty beating Bryne for second with Graeme Gowland (WFR Honda) a solid fourth ahead of Tommy Hill (Swan Yamaha) and John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki). Chris Walker (Pr1mo Kawasaki) was a solid seventh, eighth Glen Richards (WFR Honda) with Ryuichi Kiyonari (HM Plant Honda) and Alex Lowes (Motorpoint Yamaha) rounding out the top ten.
25.09.11. BSB : Round eleven, Silverstone, Northamptonshire, day three, race two. Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) has taken his second with in the MCE British Superbike Championship after an epic heart-stopping exchange between himself and his four title rivals. An oustanding display of riding saw Brookes, toghether with John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) , Michael Laverty (Swan Yamaha), Tommy Hill (Swan Yamaha), Shane Bryne (HM Plant Honda), Peter Hickman (Tyco Honda) and Jon Kirkham (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) battle hard for the leading positions, the group of seven from start to finish at one stage. Brookes would eventually open up a gap at the front until Chris Walker's Pr1mo Kawasaki expired on the last lap resulting in the race to be red flagged. It meant that Brookes celebrated his second win of the year ahead of Hopkins and Hill. Michael Laverty shrugged off a late charge from Shane Bryne. Jon Kirkham finished sixth ahead of Peter Hickman and Michael Rutter (Rapid-Bathams Ducati), with Tommy Bridewell (Motorpoint Yamaha) and Dan Linfoot (Tyco Honda) rounding out the top ten.

John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) has taken his third straight win of the season at Silverstone today, just two weeks after a second hand operation back home in the USA. The battle for second came down between the Swan Yamaha's of Michael Laverty and Tommy Hill, but Laverty proved to be the better rider on the day secured the runner-up position. Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) have a fine run to the chequred flag to take fourth after fending off the intentions of Shane Bryne (HM Plant Honda) and a massive gap to sixth Graeme Gowland (WFR Honda). Alex Lowes (Motorpoint Yamaha) fought his way through to a strnong seventh ahead of the Rapid-Bathams Ducati's of Michael Rutter and Martin Jessopp, with Tommy Bridewell (Motorpoint Yamaha) rounding out the top ten.
24.09.11. BSB : Round eleven, Silverstone, Northamptonshire, Superpole, day two. Swan Yamaha's Michael Laverty has taken his second pole position in the MCE British Superbike Championship after holding off John Hopkins (Samsung Cesent Suzuki) in the final qualifying session. Laverty's time of 2min 05. 056secs came in dying moments in FP3 after Hopkins decided to opt out after feeling discomfort in his injured finger. Joining them on the front row is Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) and veteran Michael Rutter (Rapid-Bathams Ducati). Tommy Hill (Swan Yamaha) will head off the second row in fifth where he wil be joined by Jon Kirkham (Samsung Cresent Suzuki), Martin Jessopp (Rapid-Bathams Ducati) and Peter Hickman (WFR Honda). Swan Yamaha rider Tommy Hill established himself the man to beat heading into the first of three British Superbike Championship showndown rounds as he topped free practice at Donington Park. Having paced the morning session by more than a second, Hill's advantage remained a healthy five tenths as he comfortably out-performed his title fighting rivals. John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) was keeping a close eye on things in second, with Hill's team-mate Michael Laverty third. Shane Byrne (HM Plant Honda) was fourth ahead of Jon Kirkham (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) and Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) who despite coming off at Redgate corner was able to finish in sixth. Graeme Gowland (WFR Honda) was a solid seventh and the quickest rider in the EVO class, eighth Peter Hickman (Tyco Honda) with EVO class contenders Barry Burrell (Buildbase BMW) and Glen Richards (WFR Honda) rounding out the top ten.

Tommy Hill made it three wins out of three this weekend for the Swan Yamaha team by taking his second victory of the day at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire for the ninth round of the MCE British Superbike Championship. Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) managed to snatch second from Hill's team-mate Michael Laverty who won the opening race of the weekend yesterday. Championship points leader Shane "Shakey" Bryne kept his grip on the BSB title by finishing fourth ahead of Peter Hickman (Tyco Honda) and Jon Kirkham (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) defending champion Ryuichi Kiyonari (HM Plant Honda) kept his just scrapped in to seventh to take the final place in the Shoot-Out. Martin Jessopp (Rapid-Bathams Ducati) had a lonely race in eighth, with Graeme Gowland (WFR Honda) and James Ellison (Sorrymate.com SMT Honda) rounding out the top ten.

Behind the top three, Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) bounced back from his race one disqualification to finish fourth ahead of Peter Hickman (Tyco Honda) and Jon Kirkham (Samsung Cresent Suzuki). Martin Jessopp (Rapid-Bathams Ducati) fended off a late attack from Graeme Gowland (WFR Honda) for seventh with Ryuichi Kiyonari (HM Plant Honda) and Gary Mason (MSS Colchester Kawasaki) completing the top ten.
28.08.11. BSB : Round nine, Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire, day two, race one. Michael Laverty second his second BSB win of the season in the first of three races this weekend at Cadwell Park. The Swan Yamaha rider came under attack from his team-mate Tommy Hill before the race was red-flagged due to rain at the start on the eleventh lap. There was also fierce contention from the title fighter contenders Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) Shane Byrne (HM Plant Honda) who finished in third and fourth. Jon Kirkham (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) was able to get ahead of Ryuichi Kiyonari (HM Plant Honda) for fifth with Gary Mason (MSS Colchester Kawasaki) a respectable seventh. Martin Jessopp (Rapid-Bathams Ducati) was eighth ahead of Peter Hickman (Tyco Honda) and Glen Richards (WFR Honda) who rounded out the top ten.

Hot on the heels of the Honda of Byrne was Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) and Gary Mason (MSS Colchester Kawasaki), with veteran rider Michael Rutter (Rapid-Bathams Ducati) a solid fourth. Crowd favourite, Chris Walker (Pr1mo Racing Kawasaki) managed to hold off the Swan Yamaha of Tommy Hill for fifth, with James Ellison (Sorrymate.com Honda) who is filling in for the team around his World Supersport duties ended his first day a solid seventh. Eighth was Michael Laverty (Swan Yamaha) with reigning BSB Champion Ryuichi Kiyonari (HM Plant Honda) Patric Muff (Tyco Honda) rounding out the top ten.
07.08.11. BSB : Round eight, Brands Hatch, Kent, day three, race three. Swan Ymaha's Tommy Hill wrapped up the eighth round of the MCE British Superbike Champion by taking victory in the third and final race of the weekend. Hill led from lights to flag and the only rider to run with the local man was Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins who would eventually drop off Hill's pace to finish a comfortable second. The battle for third came down between HM Plant Honda's Shane Byrne and Swan Yamaha's Michael Laverty, but on this occasion Bryne rode a calculated race to secure third. Rapid-Bathams Ducati Michael Rutter took his second fifth place of the day ahead of defending champion HM Plant Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari and MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason. World Superbike regular Joan Lascorz had a consistant run throughout the weekend took eighth with WFR Honda's Peter Hickman and Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Kirkham completing the top ten.

HM Plant Honda's Shane Shakey Bryne fended off the Swan Yamaha of Tommy Hill on the pair's home circuit of Brands Hatch in Kent to secure his first win since Thruxton back in April. The battle for third came down between American Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins and Hill's team-mate Michael Laverty, but Hopper proved to strong for the Irishman this time to take third. Rapid-Bathams Ducati's Michael Rutter came from the fifth row on the grid to lift himself up to fifth ahead of race one winner Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes and World Superbike regular Kawasaki SRT's Joan Lascorz. Rutter's team-mate Martin Jessopp was eighth with Jon Kirkham and Peter Hickman completing the top ten.
05.08.11. BSB : Round eight, Brands Hatch, Kent day two, race one. A brave tyre choice just minutes before the start of the first race of the weekend at Brands Hatch was the key ingrediant for Josh Brookes to take his first win for the Relentless Suzuki Racing team. Brookes, who struggled in Superpole had to start from the fourth row on the grid but after an aggressive start the Suzuki rider was already up to third place on the opening lap and by the third lap Brookes had taken the lead. Once out in front he was able to control the race to secure his first win of the year. Veteran rider Michael Rutter (Rapid-Bathams Ducati) done a fantastic job to take the runner-up spot, while Gary Mason (MSS Colchester Kawasaki) and John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) took it down to the final wire where Mason was given third. Crowd favourite Chris Walker (Pr1mo Kawasaki) who at one point was up to third crossed the line in fifth ahead of James Westmoreland (Motorpoint Yamaha) and Graeme Gowland (WFR Honda). Local rider Tommy Hill (Swan Yamaha) has taken pole position for the eighth round of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch after fending off John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki). Hill, who has won four races already this season put in a best lap pf 1'25. 357secs ahead of Anglo-American John Hopkins with his Swan Yamaha team-mate Michael Laverty third. PBM Kawasaki's World Superbike regular Joan Lascorz, who's riding as a wild-card this weekend put in an impressive show to take the last slot on the front row in fourth. Current championship points leader Shane Bryne (HM Plant Honda) will head off the second row in fifth, where he will be joined by the two Rapid-Bathams Ducati's of Martin Jessopp and veteran Michael Rutter and Motorpoint Yamaha's James Westmoreland. Race two of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship has been postponed until the August Bank Holiday round at Cadwell Park following heavy rainfall at Oulton Park that bought a premature end to the event despite the best efforts of the Racesafe marshalls.

Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill secured his first Oulton Park race win in the opening MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship race at title rival Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins crashed out of the lead. Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) managed to hold off a late attack from Michael Rutter (Rapid-Bathams Ducati) to take second, while one time race leader Shane Byrne (HMPlant Honda) had to settle for fourth. Gary Mason was the fastest of the Kawasaki's in fifth ahead of Swan Yamaha's Michael Laverty and the two Motorpoint Yamaha's of Loris Baz and James Westmoreland, with John Kirkham (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) and Scott Smart (Rapido Ducati) rounding out the top ten.

John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) has taken his second consectutive British Superbike Championship pole position of the season at Oulton Park, ahead of Tommy Hill (Swan Yamaha) and his team-mate Michael Laverty with Shane Byrne (HM Plant Honda) completing the front row in fourth. Defending champion Ryuichi Kiyonari (HM Plant Honda) will head off the second row in fifth, ahead of Frenchman Loris Baz (Motorpoint Yamaha) and Alex Lowes (MSS Colchester Kawasaki) while Tyco Honda's Peter Hickman upped his game to claim eighth, with James Westmoreland (Motorpoint Yamaha) and Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) rounding out the top ten.
15.07.11. BSB : Round seven, Oulton Park, Cheshire, free practice, day one. American John Hopkins (Samsung Cresent Suzuki) was the rider to beat on the opening day of free practice for round seven of the MCE British Superbike Championship. Having lead the free practice one session aboard the Suzuki by nearly four-tenths of a second ahead of Tommy Hill (Swan Yamaha) as the lap times dropped in the afternoon. Once again Hopkins and Hill would be the front runner's again, ahead of MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason with a strong ride from Michael Laverty (Swan Yamaha) in fourth. Australian Josh Brookes (Relentless Suzuki) just managed to hold off current championship leader Shane Byrne (HM Plant Honda) for sixth, ahead of Michael Rutter (Rapid-Bathams Ducati) and BSB returnee James Ellison who currently rides in the Supersport World Championship was eighth, with defending champion Ryuichi Kiyonari (HM Plant Honda) and Ian Lowery (Buildbase BMW) rounding out the top ten.
04.07.11. BSB : Simon Andrews has undergone surgery on his leg following a high-speed crash in race two at the seventh roud of MCE British Superbike Championship at Snetterton in Norfolk. Both Steve Brogan and Andrews crashed on oil spilt by Alex Lowes MSS Colchester Kawasaki, the former suffering a shoulder injury and the latter recieving serious leg injuries. Andrews who was admitted to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital underwent an operation to clean the injured area and had inserted an external frame to stabilise the fractures in his lower leg. Simon will have to have reconstructive surgery to replace the four inches of missing bonewith bone from his hip, followed by plastic surgery to cover it up.
03.07.11. BSB : Round six, Snetterton, Norfolk, race two, day three. Reigning British Superbike Champion Ryuichi Kiyonari returned to the top of the podium after taking advantage of his team-mate Shane Byrne's crash with John Hopkins on the final lap in race two at the Snetterton 300 circuit. It was the Samsung Cresent Suzuki of Hopkins that lead on the opening lap from Kiyonari and Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes who had stormed through to third. While Hopkins maintained his lead it soon become a three way battle at the front, as the American soon came under fire from Kiyonari and Brookes before the race was red flagged on the eighth lap when Simon Andrews and Steve Brogan crashed heavily. On the restart Hopkins again got a flyer off the line ahead of Brookes, Byrne and Kiyonari as the race resumed over nine laps. Byrne was looking to make a move on Brookes and was able to pass him on the brakes to put the HM Plant Honda into second place. There was a fierce battle up at the front as Byrne challenged Hopkins for the lead where he passed the American on the penulitmate lap. Byrne held the lead into the final corner where he collided with Hopkins. Both riders done everything they could to stay upright as Kiyonari and Brookes passed, Hopkins was able to rejoin in third ahead of Byrne in fourth. Michael Laverty held onto fifth as Martin Jessopp recorded his best result of the season so far for the Rapid-Bathams Ducati team in sixth. Frenchman Loris Baz was seventh with Chris walker eighth and Ian Lowery and Jake Zemke completing the top ten.
03.07.11. BSB : Round six, Snetterton, Norfolk, race one, day three. Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins won his second race of the season at the Snetteron 300 circuit in Norfolk today. Hpokins who started from his maiden pole position lead through the opening laps, establishing himself a healthy lead over the chasing pack. However, Hopkins lead would be wiped out by the safety car which was deployed after a crash involving Tom Tunstall and Hudson Kennaugh. Hopper held onto the lead on the re-start but quickly found himself under attack from Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill and HM Plant Honda's Shane Byrne, but despite Hill and Byrne's best efforts the American crossed the line to take his second win of the year. Hill and Byrne were second and third with Hill's team-mate Michael Lavery fought his way up from twelfth on the grid to fourth. Reighing champion Ryuichi Kiyonari who at one point ran up as high as third dropped back to sixth ahead of Samsung Cresent Suzuki's Jon Kirkham and Relentles Suzuki's Josh Brookes. Chris Walker finished the highest of the Kawasaki's in eighth with Loris Baz and Peter Hickman completing the top ten.
02.07.11. BSB : Round six, Snetterton, Norfolk, qualifying, day two. American John Hopkins will start from pole position for the first time in his BSB career afer a heated session at the Snetterton 300 circuit in Norfolk for round eight of the MCE British Superbike Championship. Hopkins came good when it mattered to set a best lap of 1'47. 451secs, half a second faster than Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill. Hopper' team-mate Jon Kirkham managed to hold off Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes for third, while French teenager Loris Baz will head off row two in fifth. Championship leader Shane Byrne could not replicate his pace from the earlier session will start from sixth ahead of Motorpoint Yamaha's James Westmoreland and his HM Plant Honda team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari. Crowd favourite Chris Walker managed to make up ground aboard the Pro1mo Kawasaki by outclassing the MSS Colchester Kawasaki's of Gary Mason and Alex Lowes in tenth and eleventh.

Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill stormed the seccond free practice session as he toppled Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins in the dying seconds to end the opening day at Snetterton 300 circuit fastest. Hopkins took a commanding advantage in the opening session but this afternoon the American continued his run of form until the final lap who edged narrowly ahead of his title rival. It was a frantic five minutes as the positions continued to change as the pace increased towards the end of the session, with Josh Brookes firing his Relentless Suzuki to third in the final minute as Loris Baz did the same to go fourth. This bumped Baz Motorpoint Yamaha team-mate James Westmoreland down from second to fifth. MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason was shuffled back to seventh by Hill's Swan Yamaha team-mate Michael Laverty, while HM Plant Honda rider Sahne Byrne who at one point was leading was pushed back to eighth. Rapid-Bathams Ducati veteran rider Michael Rutter was ninth with reigning champion Ryuichi Kiyonari in tenth.
19.06.11. BSB : Round five, Knockhill, Scotland, race two, day three. Tommy Hill took his second win of the day at Knockhill in Scotland, firmly establishing himself as a title contender. Championship points leader Shane Byrne who finished third in race one, done well to hold off Hill's Swan Honda team-mate Michael Laverty for second. British champion Ryuichi Kiyonari had his best result since Oulton Park was fourth ahead of Motorpoint Yamaha's James Westmoreland and MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason. Crowd favourite and Pr1mo Kawasaki rider Chris Walker put in a solid performance in seventh with Tyco Honda's Peter Hickman holding off Rapid-Bathams Ducati's Michael Rutter for eighth. Ice Valley BMW rider Simon Andrews scord his first win in the EVO class took tenth.
19.06.11. BSB : Round five, Knockhill, Scotland, race one, day three. Tommy Hill has won his first race since injuring his shoulder in the opening race at Knockhill in Scotland. The Swan Yamaha rider dominated the proceedings to take victory over Samsunsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins, who came under attack from HM Plant Honda's Shane Byrne who started from ninth on the grid eventually had to settle for third. A strong ride from MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason managed to hold off the Relentless Suzuki of Josh Brookes for fourth, with Hill's Swan Yamaha team-mate Michael Laverty in sixth. Motorpoint Yamaha rider James Westmoreland put in a gutsy ride to take his best finish of the season in seventh. Samsung Cresent Suzuki's Jon Kirkham was eighth with the second Motorpoint Yamaha ridden by Loris Baz and HM Plant Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari rounding out the top ten.
18.06.11. BSB : Round five, Knockhill, Scotland, qualifying, day two. Swan Yamaha rider Tommy Hill has taken pole position for Sunday's races at a wet and wild Knockhill in Scotland. As rain continued to effect the proceedings at the Scottish circuit, several riders would suffer spills, including championship leader Shane Bryne, Alex Lowes, Chris Walker, Josh Brookes and Loris Baz. Not phased by the conditions, Hill went on to take set a best time of 52.867seconds ahead of Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins, MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason and veteran Rapid-Bathams Ducati rider Michael Rutter. Croft winner Jon Kirkham made it a good day for the Samsung Cresent Suzuki team in fifth ahead of Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes claiming sixth despite his early spill. WFR Honda rider Glen Richards who races in the EVO class was more than happy to cross the line in seventh. The Motorpoint Yamaha's of James Westmoreland and Loris Baz where split by HM Plant Honda's Shane Byrne in ninth.
17.06.11. BSB : Round five, Knockhill, Scotland, free practice, day one. In wet slippery conditions, Swan Yamaha rider Tommy Hill emerged fastest at the end of day one at Knockhill in Scotland. The only rider to get closest to Hill was French teenager Motorpoint Yamaha's Loris Baz, with Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins taking to the Knockhill circuit for the first time qualifyed in third. Hill's Swan Honda team-mate Michael Laverty just managed to hold of championship leader HM Plant Honda's Shane Byrne for fourth, with Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes splitting the HM Plant Honda's of Byrne and Ryuichi Kiyonari for sixth. MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason improved between sessions was eighth ahead of ICE Valley BMW's Simon Andrews and Sorrymate.com SMT Honda's Jon Kirkham rounding out the top ten.
14.06.11. BSB : Californian Jake Zemke has joined Team WFR Honda in the WFR Honda in the BSB Evo class and will make his deubut at Knocjhill on June 19. The American star has been keen to find a ride in the BSB for some time and replaces Alex Lowes who left the team, post Croft after refusing to sign a contract that tied him in to a ten year management contract. Zemke (35) is a former AMA Formula Xtreme and has a third in the Superbike Championship anf three AMA Supersport titles won in 2004, 2007 and 2010.
13.06.11. BSB : MSS Colchester Kawasaki has confirmed that it has signed Allex Lowes for the rest of the season, while former World Supersport champion Andrew Pitt is coming onboard as Gary Mason's crew chief. Lowes made the switch to the Kawasaki team at Thruxton as a replacement for Stuart Easton, just days after parting company with EVO team WFR Honda. Lowes surprised the BSB paddock by taking pole position at a wet Thruxton circuit where he took seventh in race one, only to craash out while in second place in race two. This prompted team boss Nick Morgan to sign Alex for the rest of the season.
30.05.11. BSB : Round four, Thruxton, Hampshire, day three, race two. HM Plant Honda rider Shane "Shakey" Byrne won the second superbike race of the day from lights to flag. MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Alex Lowes who started from seventh on the grid was doing a great job in chasing Byrne down, but a costly mistake saw the 20 year-old high side his machine a the mid race distance point. The battle second was on between Rapid-Bathams Ducati's Michael Rutter and Tyco Honda's Peter Hickman as the pair was constantly swapping paint work, but on the penultimate lap Rutter lost the front end of his machine putting an end to his race. By know Byrne had opened up a ten second lead where he crossed the finish line on his back wheel to record his 30th superbike win. Peter Hickman held onto to second while Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins mugged Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill on the line for third. A strong finish from Dan Linfoot saw the Sorrymate.com SMT Honda rider take fifth ahead of Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes and race one winner Michael Laverty. Primo 1 Racing Kawasaki's Chris Walker took his second eighth of the day with Samsung Cresent Suzuki's Jon Kirkham and Rapid-Bathams Ducati's Martin Jessopp rounding out the top ten.
30.05.11. BSB : Round four, Thruxton, Hampshire, day three, race one. In cold wet conditions Swan Yamaha rider Michael Laverty won race one at Thruxton in Hampshire. The battle for the lead changed several times as seven riders hustled each other at the front. Pole starter Alex Lowes was justled back to seventh, but the star of the show went to HM Plant Honda's Shane Byrne who started from the back of the grid where he found himself on the last lap fighting for second place with veteran Rapid-Bathams Ducati's Michael Rutter who got the better drive out of the final turn to hang onto second. Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins managed to hold off Tyco Honda's Peter Hickman for fourth with SMT Honda's Dan Linfoot sixth. MSS Colchester Kawasaki pole man Alex Lowes managed to hold onto seventh, eighth Pr1mo 1 Kawasaki's Chris Walker with Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes and HM Plant Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari rounding out the top ten.
05.11. BSB : Round four, Thruxton, Hampshire, superpole, day two. Alex Lowes who is filling in for the injured Stuart Easton at the MSS Colchester Kawasaki Team has taken his maiden pole position ahead of the bank holiday Monday races at Thruxton in Hampshire. Lowes who's first ride on the MSS machine took place yesterday, as the plucky youngster soon gelled with his machine where he was able to set a best time of 1min 14.891secs to take pole for round four of the MCE British Superbike Championship. Joining Lowes on the front row will be Samsaung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins, Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill and Rapid-Bathams Ducati veteran Michael Rutter. A strong ride from Peter Hickman saw the Tyco Honda rider qualify in fifth where he will head off row two. Reigning BSB champion Ryuichi Kiyonari was sixth, seventh Swan Yamaha's Michael Laverty with Motorpoint Yamaha's Loris Baz in eighth. Baz's team-mate James Westmoreland done a great job by qualifying in ninth with Sorrymate.com Dan Linfoot rounding out the top ten.

HM Plant Honda rider Shane Byrne continued to dominate the proceedings on the opening day of free practice at the high speed circuit of Thruxton in Hampshire. Byrne only threat in the second free practice session came from Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill who led until the final minutes until the HM Plant rider put in a stunning time of 1m 15.248s to take provisional pole. Hill's Swan Yamaha team-mate Michael Laverty was third with Motorpoint Yamaha's James Westmoreland fourth. Samsung Cresent Suzuki rider John Hopkins had another circuit to learn where he ended his opening day in sixth behind Tyco Honda's Peter Hickman. The two Rapid-Bathams Ducati's ridden by MartinJessopp and Michael Laverty were seventh and eighth with Samsung Cresent Suzuki's Jon Kirkham and Buildbase BMW Ian Lowery rounding out the top ten.
15.05.11. BSB : Round three, Croft, North Yorkshire, day three, race two. HM Plant Honda rider Shane Byrne bounced back after a diasppointing race one to take the win in race two with ease. After a mechanical issue forced Shakey out of the first race the win proppelled him back to the top of the championship standings. MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Stuart Easton rode a daring race to take second with Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins third. The battle for fourth came down between the Relentless Suzuki of Josh Brookes and Motorpoint Yamaha teenager Loris Baz, but the Suzuki rider just done enough to keep the young Frenchman at bay. Swan Yamaha's Tommy was sixth ahead of MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason and Rapid-Bathams Ducati's Michael Rutter with the two Tyco Honda's ridden Peter Hickman and Tommy Bridewell rounding out the top ten.
15.05.11. BSB : Round three, Croft, North Yorkshire, day three, race one. Jon Kirkham beat his Samsung Cresent Suzuki team-mate John Hopkins to take his maiden win the the BSB Championship in the opening race at Croft. Despite starting from 16th on the grid in slippery conditions Kirkham charged his way to the front, where the safety car was deployed after race leader Shane Byrne's HM Plant Honda deplyed oil onto the track where Kirkham was able to bunch up to the rest of the riders. Once the safety retired the Samsung Suzuki rider quickly got the hammer down to pass MSS Colchester Kawasaki rider Gary Mason where he went in pursuit of team-mate and race leader John Hopkins who eventually ran wide allowing Kirkham to dive under neath him to record his maiden win. Gary Mason crossed the finish in third to take his first podium of the 2011 season for the MSS Kawasaki squad ahead of French teenager Motorpoint Yamaha's Loris Baz and WFR Honda's Alex Lowes. Mason's team-mate Stuart Easton was sixth, seventh Tyco Honda's Peter Hickman with Relentless Suzuki's Broc Parkes, WFR Honda's Glen Richards and Tyco Honda's Tommy Bridewell rounding out the top ten.

HM Plant Honda rider Shane Byrne has taken pole position for the third round of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Croft in North Yorkshire. Sorrymate.com SMT Honda's Dan Linfoot was a strong seventh while pre-race favourite Swan Honda's Tommy Hill was disappointed with eighth. Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins who won last time out had another circuit to learn was ninth with Tyco Honda's Peter Hickman rounding out the top ten.

Hill bettered his time from this morning's free practice session to edge of Rapid-Bathams Ducati rider Michael Rider with a best lap of 1min 20. 763 seconds, with Hill Swan Yamaha team-mate Michael Laverty taking third. MSS Colchester Kawasaki rider Stuart Easton who took two podium places last time out at Oulton Park went fourth quickest ahead of Motorpoint Yamaha's Loris Baz and Oulton Park race winner Samsung Cresnt Suzuki's John Hopkins. Motorpoint Yamaha's James Westmoreland edged out Relentless Suzuki's Broc Parkes for seventh while HM Plant Honda's Shane "Shakey" Byrne just managed to hold onto to ninth with Tyco Honda's Peter Hickman in tenth.

The Samsung Cresent Suzuki rider took the top step on the podium after an incident packed race which at one point the safety car was brought onto the circuit after Josh Brookes wrecked his Relentless Suzuki machine sending debris all over the Cheshire circuit. After taking third place in race one MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Stuart Easton went one place better to take the runner-up spot with HM Plant Honda of Shane Byrne just edging out his team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari for third. Swan Yamaha's Michael Laverty took a solid fifth ahead Rapid-Bathams Ducati Veteran rider Michael Rutter and Hopkins team-mate Jon Kirkham with Tyco Honda's Peter Hickman, Motorpoint Yamaha's Loris Baz and MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason rounding out the top ten.

Anglo-Americam John Hopkins also took his first podium of 2011 for the Samsung Cresent Suzuki Team with MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Stuart Easton getting the better of Kiyo's team-mate Shane "Shakey" Bynre for third. Swan Yamaha rider John Laverty who was leading the race in the early stages had to settle for fifth ahead of Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes and John Hopkins team-mate Jon Kirkham. Motorpoint Yamaha's Loris Bas was eighth with MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason and Sorrymate.com SMT Honda's Dan Linfoot rounding out the top ten. Pole position rider Tommy Hill will play no part in today's races as the Swan Yamaha rider fell heavily in this morning's warm-up. It's understood that tommy has no lasting damage after the fall, as he is just a little battered and bruised.

Swan Yamaha rider Tommy Hill has taken an early lead in the 2011 MCE British Superbike Championship after getting the better of the HM Plant Honda's of Ryuichi Kiyonari and Shane Byrne after finishing in the runner-up spot to Byrne in race one. After crasing out in the first race Swan Yamaha rider Michael Laverty was some way back in fourth ahead of Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins and MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Stuart Easton. Veteran rider Rapid-Bathams Ducati Michael Rutter had to settle for seventh this time out ahead of Sorrymate.com SMT Honda's Dan Linfoot and Tyco Honda's Peter Hickman with the final MSS Colchester Kawasaki ridden by Gary Mason in tenth.
25.04.11. BSB : Round one, race one, day three, Brands Hatch, Kent. HM Plant Honda rider Shane "Shakey" Byrne who shattered the lap record during yesterday's superpole recorded his first win of the season in an action packed race at Brands Hatch in Kent. The local rider took full advantage of Michael Laverty's crash when the Swan Yamaha rider tumbled out of the lead on lap 14 which prompted the safety car out on track. This enabled the rest of the chasing group to close up on Byrne and once the car pulled into the pits the the Honda rider kept his composure for the remainder of the race to record his first win since 2007. The runner-up spot went to Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill with a fantastic ride from Tyco Honda's Tommy Bridewell who pressured MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Stuart Easton into making a mistake on the final corner took third. Samsung Cresent Suzuki's Jon Kirkham took fifth ahead of veteran rider Rapid-Bathams Ducati's Michael Rutter and Motorpoint Yamaha's Loris Baz. Dan Linfoot crossed the finish line in eighth for the Sorrymate.com SMT Honda squad with Rutter's team-mate Martin Jessopp and crowd favourite Pr1mo Kawasaki's Chris Walker rounding out the top ten.
24.04.11. BSB : Round one, Superpole, day two, Brands Hatch, Kent. After two tough years away racing in World Superbikes, Shane "Shakey" Byrne sent a message out to the rest of the paddock by taking pole position for tomorrow's Bank Holiday races. The HM Plant Honda rider swiftly progressed through the Superpole shoot-out sessions to deny his team-mate who's reigning BSB champion Ryuichi Kiyonari the top slot on the grid with a time of 45.117s. The battle for the remaining two places on the front row was hotly contested which the two Swan Yamaha's of Michael Laverty and Tommy Hill filled. Heading off the second row in fifth will be Motorpoint Yamaha's Loris Baz who will be joined by veteran Rapid-Bathams Ducati rider Michael Rutter and Samsung Cresent Suzuki's Jon Kirkham with Tyco Honda's Tommy Bridewell eighth. Motorpoint Yamaha's James Westmoreland and MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Stuart Easton will start from the third row in ninth and tenth with the final two slots going to Samsung Cresent Suzuki's John Hopkins and Sorrymate.com SMT Honda's Dan Linfoot.
23.04.11. BSB : Round one, free practice, day one, Brands Hatch, Kent. Tommy Hill led a 1-2 of Swan Yamaha's today in free practice at Brands Hatch in Kent for the opening round of the 2011 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship ahead of team-mate Michael Laverty. Third quickest rider was HM Plant Honda's reigning champion Ryuichi Kiyonari with team-mate Shane Shakey Byrne fourth. Former MotoGP star John Hopkins was able to keep it in the mix for the Samsung Cresent Suzuki Team was fifth, with Dan Linfoot a solid sixth aboard Sorrymate.com Honda while Frenchman Loris Baz was able to split the two MSS Colchester Kawasaki's of Stuart Easton and Gary Mason for eighth for Motorpoint Yamaha team. Rounding out the top ten was Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes.
22.04.11. BSB Official one day test, Brands Hatch, Kent. HM Plant Honda rider Shane "Shakey" Byrne announced his return to the championship by setting the fastest time in the first official test at Brands Hatch. Byrne, making his return to the BSB after two tough years in World Superbikes quickly established himself as a potential race winner ahead of the season opener at Brands this bank holiday posted a best time of 45. 777 secs around the Indy circuit. The only other rider to dip under the 46 seconds barrier was former MotoGP star John Hopkins riding for the Samsung Cresent Suzuki Team this season. Tommy Hill made steady progress to climb into the top three on the Swan Yamaha, just ahead of Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes and Swan Yamaha team-mate Michael Laverty. Stuart Easton was the fastest of the Kawasaki's in sixth, John Kirkham was the seventh fastest, while reigning champion HM Plant Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari eighth. MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason and SMT Honda's Dan Linfoot rounded out the top ten.
16.03.11. Crowd favourite Chris Walker has announced that he will be riding the new Kawasaki ZX-10R machine in this year BSB Championship. He will be riding for the newly formed Primo Racing Team, which is backed by haulage firm Enviro and precission engineering company R&G. The Stalker has re-united with engine tuner Ray Stringer who will be preparing the Kawasaki's while haulage boss Dan Cheevers will take on the role as team manager.
11.03.11. The MSS Colchester Kawasaki Racing Team concluded their testing program at the Portimao circuit in Portugal with riders Stuart Easton and Gary Mason. Both riders progressed in the development of the 2011 ZX-10R after it's first outing last week at the Cartagena circuit in Spain. A busy day of testing, which was disrupted by rain early on, Easton who returns to the MSS team after two-years was able to put plenty of miles on the bike, while team-mate Gary Mason was happy with the changes he made to the suspension and traction control.
06.03.11. After four busy days at the Cartagena circuit in Spain the Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing team can return to the UK very satified indeed, after what team manager Phillip Neill described, as the most productive test ever. All three riders learned so much about their new machinery for 2011 and not one the team's GSX-R machines missed a beat all week, despite accumulating the maximum amount of laps available on each of the four days. New British Superbike recruit Josh Brookes put in a lot of hard work; not only did he ride a GSX-R1000 Superbike for the first time this week but he tested an extensive range of different setiings, engine specifications and even rode three different machines. It was vital for the team to make the most of the opportunity and allow Josh to gain as much knowledge as possible. A testing procedure of this nature can be difficult for some riders as they never really get the chance to settle, but Josh worked hard and only really started to push hard towards the end. He found what he needed from the bike, when required, and the lap times wrer well within his grasp.
Team Manager Phillip Neil said : "To see Josh finish comfortably faster than his best time ever at this circuit is very encouraging indeed."
On Guy Martin's performance team manager Phillip Neill said : "I'm quietly confident that Guy has already found a comfortable set up with his new bikes. He also carried out some productive tests tyre tests with Pirelli and everyone involved with TAS Racing is looking forward to helping Guy enjoy a very successful season. Alastir Seeley immediately gelled with the GSX-R600 and continued to make good progress over the four days. The team is now looking forward to seeing the new bike hit the track for the first time, even though they are still at stage one in terms of development. It was also encouraging to see Alastir show the true potential of the GSX-R1000, which he will compete on at the NW200 and perhaps a few selected rounds of the National Superstock series."
03.03.11. HM Plant Honda had an early finish to it's third and final day of testing at the Calafat circuit in Spain today, as rain halted progress. The team had already completed two successful days and decided to wrap the final day a few hours early due to the conditions. Both Ryuichi Kiyonari and Shane Byrne are feeling confident of their early progress with their Fireblades ahead of joining their British Superbike rivals at the next test, and Jason O'Halloran continued to improve his pace on his third day on the team's Superstock specification Fireblade.
Kiyo said : "I was feeling happy on the final day as we had a lot to test, then the rain came which was disappointing for all of us. We must now work hard at the next test at Cartagena."
Shakey said : "The test went really well considering we had to cut it short today due to the rain, but i am happy with the chages we made overall. We must now crack on at the next test at Cartagena as alot of the BSB teams will be there fine tuning their machines before the season opener at Brands."
Jason said : "It's been a mega few days for me and it is great working with the team. It was disappointing that we had to cut short due to the weather, but we have come away from Calafat feeling good and have a good idea on the direction we need to try at Cartagena."
Team Manager Havier Beltran concluded : "It's a shame for the whole team that we had to come away early from the test as both Kiyo and Shakey still have a lot to test but we are on a roll. We wanted to test some new parts this afternoon but with the change of the weather made it impossible as it was not either wet or dry which left us in no-man's land so we decided to pack up early and head to Cartagena which is a six hour drive away for a final two-days of testing."
02.03.11. Highly experienced British Superbike team Cresent Suzuki Racing, has today confirmed technology electrics giants Samsung as 2011 title sponsors, while also annoucing reigning British Superstock Champion Jon Kirkham as team-mate to John Hopkins in the team's two-rider Superbike series assult. With testing due to commence shortly, the new look Samsung Cresent Suzuki Racing Team will make its debut at the Cartagena circuit in Spain today, with new signing Kirkham and ex MotoGP star Hopkins getting their first taste of the Suzuki GSX-R1000 that will finally take to the grid at Brands Hatch for round one on April 25th.
