Sterilgarda Yamaha World Superbike rider Ben Spies took both race wins a Donington Park in Great Britain for round nine of the Hannspree World Superbike Championship. In race one Spies controlled the race throughout to take his first win of the day ahead of Aprilia's Max Biaggi and Ducati Xerox's Nori Haga. Race two saw the 25-year-old American open up a three second lead with in two laps while championship leader Nori Haga crashed out trying to get on pace with Spies but once again the Sterilgarda Yamaha rider pulled the pin to win by over seven seconds ahead of Britain's Stiggy Racing Honda's Leon Haslam with Ducati Xerox's Michel Fabrizio in third.
BSB : CAMIER EXPECTS HONDA CHALLENGE
Airwaves Yamaha rider Leon Camier who currently leads the championship expects a tough challenge this weekend from the Hydrex Honda's of Karl Harris and Stuart Easton as the Visk.com British Superbike Championship heads to Knockhill in Scotland for round six. Camier said "The Yamaha team have gone five years with out a win at Knockhill as we are expecting a tough challenge from the Honda's, so it will be fun fighting for the podium."
WSBK : NORI HAGA'S OPERATION A SUCCESS
Nori Haga who crashed out in race two at Donington Park has had surgery to repair a fracture in his right arm where the surgical team deemed the operation a success after inserting plate and screws, and there were no signs of unforeseen complications. Nori and his family will fly home to Italy where he will begin physiotheraphy but the Ducati Xerox rider will not participate in the forthcoming tests at Imola but he should be fit to race in the next round at Brno in the Czech Republic.
