Reigning MOTOGP World Champion Casey Stoner confirmed that he will retire from the sport at the end of the season. The Repsol Honda rider addressed the world's media in a press conference ahead of the French Grand Prix at Le-Mans. In a short statement he outlined his reasons why he's leaving the sport.

Casey Stoner said :

"After a long time thinking, and talking to my wife and family this has been coming for a couple of years now, but i can confirm i will not be racing in 2013. After so many year's in a sport i love, and which myself and family made so many sacrifices to get me where i'm today. The sport has changed so much in the past two years, which i don't have a passion for anymore."

Following the accident at Imola on April 2nd, Joan Lascorz has completed his initial recovery at the University Hospital Vall d'hebron and has now been transferred to the Guttman Institute.

After the last statement issued on April 27, Joan has been recovering respiratory capacity after post-traumatic complications after the accident. A few days ago the medical team at the hospital removed the cannula tracheostomy thanks to good performance from Joan's respiratory system. He remains fully consious, talking, without any problems and remembers the Imola crash. He has movement in his arms and hands, but right now no fellings below the waist

Again Joan and his family would like to thank everyone for their support at this tough time.

John Hopkins has been given the all clear to return to World Superbike racing for his home round in the USA, which is to be held at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah from May 26-28.

The Cresent FIXI Suzuki star was forced to sit out the last round at Donington Park due to his injuries he suffered to his right foot and hip at the previous Monza round.

The Anglo-American visited specialists back in California where he underwent scans. After a lengthy examination, Hopkins was given the all clear to race.

John Hopkins said : "It's been a tough fews weeks since the crash as doctors were concerned more about my hip, but finally i can get bact to work for the FIXI team".
